Im back

I have been gone for a minute, working on other projects.  I have decided to open a daycare for special need children in my community.  There is not a reason that children with down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy or any other disability should be limited to the services offered to any other child.

7Figga Clothing- Interview with Will McGlenn Jr.

Hey everybody I want to introduce you to Mr. Wil McGlenn.  He is the founder of 7Figga Clothing Co.  First of all Will, where is your hometown??

WMG
I was Born in Philly, Pa. but grew up in Wilmington, NC.

NHIB
When did you get started with your clothing line and why?

WMG
I actually started my business in 2000. But didn't get serious until maybe 2007.   I've always been into fashion. My mom is a professional seamstress and I used to help her ever since I was big enough to hand her some thread. LOL

NHIB
So you were brought up around fashion.  How did you start 7Figgaz Clothing Co. and where did you get the name from?  7Figgaz??? I think I know, but let me see if I am correct.

WMG
I started my company on the living room floor. Literally. That's where I learned to screen print.  I named the line 7 Figgaz Clothing Co.(TM) because of the significance of the number 7. It represents God's number of completion first and foremost. Then, in business when your income reaches 7 Figures (Figgaz) you're considered a millionaire (which many consider success. In music when your CD sells in the 7 Figure range you're considered a Platinum selling artist...a success. So on and so forth.

NHIB
Diddy better watch out, we got a new bad boy out.  What goals do you have set for 7Figgaz Clothing Co.

WMC
My main goal for my line is to inspire people who wear it and see it to reach inside them and find that thing that I believe God placed in everyone of us to become a success.  In the near future I'd like to build the brand to be nationally recognizable and profitable. Long-term I'd like to increase the things I offer from just tees and stuff to other items, then  build a debt-free global brand.  I want people to see that it can be done.

NHIB
So you want to be international?   Will, if you could name the most important person in your life, who would it be?

WMG
My wife, no question, She is probably the only one who would stick with me through all we've been through.

NHIB
Oh Im loving it.  It is always wonderful to have a supportive person backing your every move.  Which shirt is your favorite shirt?  Im loving all of them.

WMG
I would have to say the DARE TO DREAM...PLAN TO SUCCEED shirt.  It keeps me motivated. Then afterwards the NATURAL HAIR ROCKS(tm) designs because of the story behind them.

NHIB
I love my green Natural Hair Rocks shirt.  It is so sexy.

Will if you could have done anything different, what would it be?

WMG
 Maybe start earlier.

NHIB

I feel you on that.  I have so many dreams that I know if I would have started earlier, I would be more inclined to fulfill.  I would be bigger then Beyonce right now.  LOL
What type of marketing do you use?  I see you all over facebook.

WMG
Mostly word-of-mouth, my budget is almost non-existent  so I have to be creative. But I'm good at creative, I’m fearless when it comes to marketing. I'll do what it takes to get the word out. I'm lovin' Facebook right now.

NHIB
Oh you will get there Will.  You are so smart. I admire you, your wife, and your company.  7Figgaz will be on the map in no time soon.  Do you have anything else you would like to add?

WMG

I just want to build something lasting and real, something that will make a difference in the lives of others. I want to make money, but not just to spend on myself, but to fulfill the goals that I believe God has given me to do while I'm here. I also want to leave a legacy for my children and their children.
I also want to thank my wife Kelly and my children for their support and my mom for putting up with me for asking her soooo many questions while she was trying to sew. LOL
Now...I'm LIVIN' THE DREAM!
FROM THE STUDIO...TO THE STAGE...TO THE STREET
ROCK 7 FIGGAZ!!!(tm)

Thanks for the opportunity. I'm honored!

NHIB
The honor is all mines.  To let everyone know, I have talked with Will on several occasions and his is like heaven sent.  He is so motivated to get his company on the map.  His motivation has made me motivated to live my dreams, but this segment is not about me its about 7Figgaz Clothing Co.

Thank you Will,

Natrual Hair?

Natrual hair (and yes I said "natrual") is hair without chemicals added. I have been amazed to know how many African American women have decided to go natural. Thousands and thousands of women in the Unites states alone have decided to take this journey. Just because your hair is natural does not mean your hair will not break or that it is healthy. There are still steps that have to be taken in order to maintain natrual hair.

Yes, there are African American women that have never added chemicals to their hair and then there are the ones that have used the "creamy crack" for so long and have decided to take the big step; SAYING NO. NO MORE RELAXERS. Personally I have been going through this for about 16 years. I found a picture at my daughters 3rd birthday. I had a boy cut and it was platinum. LOL. I was cute back then. I did that for a while and went back to the relaxer. In 2001 I decided I wanted locs, but did not want to cut my hair. Loc extensions was my transition method, but it just didn't feel write. So here comes the BC(Big Chop). It wasn't a big deal because remember I already had the boy cut back in the day. I HAD to add color to the BC so I had a Crimson Red TWA(Teeny Weeny Afro). I found someone to comb coil my hair until I could twist myself. So this started my journey to locs. My locs were started very thin and last me about 5 years. For some reason they began to fall out one by one, I had spaces all over my head. BC here I come again. I then decided on the Cream Crack. OMG, I hated the fact. I even cut my hair into a mohawk style so I wouldn't have "that much" relaxer. LOL. I couldn't do it any longer. BC here I come again. I have now been natural for 3 years. Since then, I have been product junking. I have done research after research on different products, transition styles, and anything else that has to do with natrual hair. You are invited to join me on my journey of natrual hair.
